Byron Jones is a trombonist who has been playing in various bands and has been passionately devoted to big band music since the age of about fifteen.

Inspired by the first Brecon Jazz Festival in 1984, Byron decided to become a bandleader and make a contribution of his own to the Welsh music scene.

That contribution has, in fact, been quite considerable.

Aside from appearing in just about all of the main venues in Wales, Byron and his big band have been twice critically acclaimed in the Arts pages of “THE GUARDIAN” newspaper, and been publically praised by Loren Schonberg, famous American Bandleader, music historian, and past Band Manager of no less than the Benny Goodman Orchestra.
